The Retractable Roof
MATERIALS: The roof is primarily
constructed steel fabricated in
Belgium.  It resembles a sandwich with
three inch thick corrugated steel on
the bottom.
ROOF AREA: 8.9 acres.  The entire
ballpark is 19.6 acres.
ROOF WEIGHT:  11,000 tons  That's
enough steel to build a 55 story
skyscraper!
HEIGHT: 275 feet at it's highest truss
About the height of the old Kingdome.
WIND TOLERANCE:  The roof can
withstand winds up to 70 mph.
